Q. How does Supplemental Health Care find the right job for me?

You tell us what part of the country you want to work in, what kind of facility you would prefer, and the schedule you’d like. Then we’ll work to help you find a job that fits these preferences. Whether you want to work close to home or experience a new location, we’ll identify assignments for you and support you throughout the transition process.

Q. What types of benefits will I receive?

Supplemental Health Care is proud to offer a great portfolio of employee benefits – known as our Supplemental Advantages. We offer competitive compensation, a 401(k) savings plan and extensive health, dental and life insurance. Also, employees are eligible to participate in the Our Rewards program, a recognition initiative that allows employees to earn points for every hour worked, and redeem them for more than 3,000 merchandise options. That’s only the beginning! Visit our Supplemental Advantages page to learn more.

Q. What types of healthcare settings will I be working in?

We provide work assignments in a variety of healthcare settings such as hospitals, urgent care clinics, health centers, corrections and psychiatric facilities, and primary care providers.

Q. Do I have a choice whether or not to accept the placements?

Yes. You can accept or reject any position we present.

Q. How long are assignments?

Assignments vary in length. Most assignments last from a few weeks to several months; depending on the facility’s needs and your preferences, which are all agreed on in advance of your accepting an assignment.

Q. Is there a cost to use Supplemental Health Care?

No. We offer our services free of charge to all Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistants. All charges are paid by the organization that hires you.

Q. Can I use my current license for other Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant assignments?

Most states require that you have a valid license for their state in order to practice. Though there are some exceptions to this, typically we will work with you to assist in obtaining a license for any state in which we put you on assignment. Our recruitment team will be able to share specific details with you.

Q. If I accept a travel assignment, will my housing, airfare, and rental car be paid for?

Absolutely – you can even bring the family pet. You will be responsible for their expenses, but we are always happy to help with arrangements.

Q. How much can I earn?

Though working as a nurse practitioner or physician assistant is considered to be a lucrative work style, your earning potential varies based on your specialty, how much you choose to work, and the types of assignments you accept. Contact one of our Advanced Practice recruiters for more details.

Q. Does Supplemental Health Care provide continuing education for Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistants?

Yes. Supplemental Physicians supports our employees’ educational needs through Supplemental University, our continuing education resource. We partner with MyFreeCE.com to provide flexible class options for working professionals with busy schedules. Learn more about our CEU opportunities.
