This opportunity entails helping people develop, maintain and restore maximum movement. It involves the provision of services in circumstances where movements and functions are threatened by the process of aging, injury or disease. Physical therapists are concerned with identifying and maximizing movement potential, within the spheres of promotion, prevention, treatment and rehabilitation. They involve the interaction between clients, families and care givers, in a process of assessing movement potential and establishing goals and objectives using their knowledge and skills. Services typically include:

• Movement enhancement electrotherapeutic and mechanical agents
• Functional training
• Provision of aids and appliances
• Patient related instruction and counseling
• Promoting and maintaining health, quality of life, and fitness in all ages and populations.
