Celebrating Heroes, Again

Thank you.

I don’t think any nurse receiving this email hears that enough.

As I’ve said many times before, you are truly heroes in my book. You take care of us when we’re sick, help us smile when we’re down, and give us hope when we’re afraid and most vulnerable. No matter how good or bad the day, you treat patients with respect, dignity and compassion.

For those of you who remember my Nurses Week email from last year, I introduced you to a great YouTube video called Get Your Nursing Back. Put together by a handful of creative nursing students, it both celebrated being a nurse and served as a fun, informal introduction to nursing as a profession.

This year, we have another YouTube video we want to share with you. This one is from us. We wanted to try and capture in a video our appreciation and admiration for all that you do. It’s certainly not very fancy, and won’t win any academy awards. But it is from the heart. It is simple, honest and sincere. We hope you enjoy it and see in it the genuine appreciation we have for each of you and your profession.

Let me end where I began. Whether you’re an employee of Supplemental Health Care or a nurse who has been forwarded this email, thank you. Thank you for caring. Thank you for serving. Thank you for being a real hero.
